About Kicked While Down
Kicked While Down is a faith-based, not religious, nonprofit being brought to life.
KWD exists to raise awareness and reduce the shame surrounding depression and the toughest seasons of life. The times when you were already down, and then you got kicked.
That’s where we come in.
We may not have all the tools to pick you back up, but we can meet you while you’re down. We can listen to your story. We can pray for you without judgment and with compassion. And we can remind you that you are not alone.
Kicked While Down was born during a time when I looked around and saw so many people struggling deeply. As someone who is no stranger to depressive seasons and hard times, I know how depression can make you feel weak and/or like you are nothing but a burden.
But I’ve learned something through those seasons: there is incredible strength in simply putting one foot in front of the other during these times.
And in my own life, inviting Jesus into those seasons has never done anything but help pick me back up.
Let's Change the Perspective
Being Kicked While Down is nothing to be ashamed of.
Depression is not weakness.
Struggling does not make you a burden.
And asking for prayer does not mean you've failed.
You can own your story.
We can pray over it.
And together, we can bring light into the darkness.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to bring light into the darkness.
Our vision for Kicked While Down is filled with possibilities, but we're starting with something powerful… your stories.
Whether you are being kicked while down right now, have walked through it before, or love someone who is struggling, we want to hear your story and pray over it.
Stories submitted for prayer will be treated with compassion and respect as well as without judgement. Our hope is to build a prayer team made up of people who can pray over stories and struggles they personally understand with the goal of creating connections through shared experiences. Helping to remind people that they are not alone.
If you feel called to become a prayer partner, please email us. We would love to connect with you.
